A Day In the Life of Me

First post! Hoping to make this a good one but we’ll see! I figured I would start with a few things about me! I am a nursing student in my junior year and I currently work in a hospital as a nursing aid. I mainly made this blog to help others cope with the stress of daily life! I definitely experience stress while in school and in my job, and like many other people, I am trying to find the best ways to make my body and mind as healthy as they can be!

I usually work the “evening” shift which is usually 3pm-11:30pm which usually leaves my mornings open to be the most productive. I try to go to the gym around 8am (sometimes this doesn’t work cuz’ I am one sleepy gal!), and I usually do a mix of weight training and wholesome cardio. I think exercise is super important to relieve stress and it is definitely a struggle for me to have the motivation get to the gym at least 4-5 times a week especially after a long day at the hospital. But, what really keeps my head up is knowing in the end I will feel so much better mentally and physically!

If I can’t find time to go to the gym or my body is particularly needy, I practice yoga. I love a good ole fashioned gentle yoga practice that includes a lot of deep stretches and breathing exercises. I also think it is super important to meditate! Attached is my favorite meditation practice by none other than Adriene from “Yoga with Adriene” on youtube! Her page is super convenient to practice yoga and meditation. All videos are free and she has all different types of videos for different careers, moods, and time frames!

I hope you enjoyed my first blog post and getting to know a little more about me! I also hope you have a moment in you busy day to try out the meditation practice! Have a happy day 🙂
